 During the commemoration, a group of military and civilian personnel from JCSE performed a play adapted from the novel “The Long White Cloud-Gallipoli” by Buket Uzuner.

JCSE HOSTED CHILDREN IN COMMEMORATION OF THE

NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND CHILDREN'S DAY

Izmir - Children from the Buca Orphanage visited Vecihi AKIN Garrison on Tuesday, 22 April 2003 on the occasion of the National Sovereignty and Children's Day. 

Welcomed by JCSE staff at their arrival, the children were directed into the Headquarters, where they had the opportunity to meet generals and high-ranking officers, as well as Commander JCSE, General Oktar Ataman, who let one of the kids, Onur Atalay, take over the Command for a short period. 

Deputy Commander JCSE, Major General Craig Hackett presented the children Christmas photos as mementos, which were taken during his visit to the orphanage last year, when JCSE staff and their spouses granted the children's wishes by presenting them with gifts. 

During their visit, the children also attended a snack in the Theatre Building and were handed down sports shoes.
