JCSE MILITARY PERSONNEL RETURN FROM KOSOVO

Izmir's NATO headquarters will conduct a ceremony at 15:00, April 19 2001 to welcome home staff members returning from Kosovo.

The ceremony to be led by Joint Command Southeast (JCSE) Commander Gen. Tamer Akbas, will take place at General Vecihi Akin Garrison in Sirinyer, Izmir, Turkey.  The 30-minute ceremony will include a pass-in-review by the returning military personnel.

More than 150 JCSE military personnel served in Kosovo during the past six months as part of NATO's Pristina-based Kosovo Force (KFOR) headquarters.

KFOR is a NATO-lead international force responsible for establishing a security presence in Kosovo.  This peace-enforcement force entered Kosovo on 12 June 1999 under a UN mandate, two days after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (UNSCR 1244).
